If your heart centered compass is pointing in an innovative direction, but you’re scared to explore new territory.

If occupation-based contemporary practice is calling you, but you haven’t yet picked up the phone.

If you want to learn from OT leaders doing things differently, but don’t have any connections.

....THEN IT’S TIME TO IMMERSE IN THE ENERGY OF THOSE WHO HAVE WALKED THE PATH BEFORE YOU.

In this course you will hear from four Australian occupational therapists who are living their OT dream.

This event IS HERE TO:

– shine a light on the possibilities within the OT scope of practice
– inspire you to do meaningful occupation-based work
-help you respond to the needs of a changing world

It’s easy to fall into the trap of providing non-occupation based interventions; theraputty, stacking cones, peg board and balloon toss. But we need to ask ourselves what are purposeful, meaningful and internally motivating occupations to support our clients to reach their goals. Did you really become an OT to help someone peg pegs in a pegboard? My guess is no. You became an OT to support people to live a vibrant meaningful life and do the things they want and need to do. And it is through meaningful occupation-based practice that we can achieve this.

Yes – through real life occupations! Not fabricated mechanistic tasks that have little relevance to a
persons everyday life.

Maybe it’s through art, dance, sport, yoga, surfing, gardening, horse riding….who knows?! It’s limitless.

After all, if its relevant to our clients, it’s relevant to us!

IT'S TIME TO LIVE YOUR OT DREAM - ONE OCCUPATION AT A TIME.
